About Me I am a wisconsin native and fully capable of driving through a blowing blizzard at 60 mph without flinching, or going in the ditch. I am comforted by the smell of a freshly manured field, and I love cheese - but refuse to wear it on my head. I'm an Eagles fan and I don't like beer which is something of a sin 'round these parts. I love scarves. I have about 20 and while my boyfriend says I have too many, I disagree noting that he has too many. I wear all 20 of mine, he never wears any of his 3. I like granny squares. No, I LOVE granny squares. If all my clothes could be made of them, they would. I am a writer and a reader. I make stuff out of almost-in-the-garbage books as a way to give them a new life.
I am a cancer. I take pictures of sunsets and clouds and the plants that live in my house. I craft because if I didn't I would most likely explode.

Tuesday is perfecto. Unless Epic schedules my interview for Tuesday, in which case Wednesday? And what movie do you have picked out? You know, just so that I don't pick the same one.

This one isn't a custom order!!

Friday, March 5, 2010, 07:03 PM GMT [General]

can you believe it. a crafty blog post that is not on an item you have no chance of getting. awesome right.

i am just very proud of this picture and thankful to the sky for being that perfect shade of blue that makes my wind chime look even better.

so good in fact that after i listed it it got 2 views immediately and one heart. a heart in the first two views! awesome.

This baby was inspired by the blue on white painting on pottery and that's exactly what i reproduced.  Beads and bottle caps and hemp and shell charms and broken pottery... you know the drill...

no keys though, i was all out.  But i did just restock on etsy. 24 keys for a great price, and from one shop too, so i didn't have to pay extra shipping from all over the place.

more wind chimes and colored pencil rolls to come.  i'm pumping up for the april craft fair at work.

    IDEA!!

Monday, February 22, 2010, 10:14 PM GMT [General]

This idea came upon me to make a dark tower windchime. a brilliant idea that is all formulated in my head and ready to go right now. so i am culling pieces and parts and bits and bites.

my plan is to represent all the beams of the tower, and all of their respective guardian animals.  then the colors of merlin's rainbow and the red of the roses. keys fit right in, and how cool if i could find a door charm (or make one out of clay), and on the backs of all the bottle caps paint the brand name nozz-a-la...

this is not going to be a cheap windchime.  this is not going to be a windchime any longer.  This will be an art chime.  i may not even attatch the word 'Garbage' to it because it will be better than garbage.

i have been to two st vinnies to get a bunch of canisters to hold the sparkly new grit i got for my rock tumbler.  I also came up with a bunch of colored glass that sooner today or later today i will be taking outside and dropping on the ground.  And then i will put my hand in the bag full of broken glass to pick out some pieces for my rock tumbler.

so if no one hears from me for a while its probably because i bled to death in a craft related injury.  we always knew it would end that way for me though, didnt we??

THEN i got one of those BRILLIANT ideas when i saw this etsy listing for little diary keys and i knew that daughter of secretly snobby lady would LOVE the little girl windchime i dreamed up

IT's got soda bottle caps and colorful beads and little butterfly and unicorn charms. little colorful shoes and a little colorful teapot...

that one is my favorite picture. i love it when i catch the sun playing in my windchimes
