    Wonderful news!

Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 08:43 PM CST [General]

I am enternally grateful for small town business owners to appreciate the hard work of the local artists.

My cards will now be sold at Touch of Serenity, a massage studio here in Chadron, Nebraska. I know this doesn't mean much to all of you, since you aren't here, but  I am very excited about this new venue.

Again, I just want to extend my appreciation to people who give small, local NEW businesses a chance.  THANK YOU!

My first blog at My Craft! How exciting!

So, this was kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing....joining mycraft, not blogging...I saw a side-ad on MySpace and thought it might be a good place to advertise my Etsy site. I'm just beginning on Etsy, selling since August, and feel the need to get the word out there about my product!

I discovered my "talent" of card-making by accident. I became a foster mother to my 1 1/2 year old niece and found that scrapbooking, a past-time I have always enjoyed, just took too much time to do with a toddler running around and my free time being absorbed by laundry. I decided to do mini-pages, which turned into card making and I found my passion! A friend of mine persuaded me to sell them and I am so happy she did. I found that there is a want for handmade, one-of-a-kind and (sometimes) personalized cards and I am thrilled to fit the bill.

Etsy is where I began my shop (Made By Meg, www.megleever.etsy.com), but since then I have expanded to doing custom orders by telephone, email and also have displayed my work in a local art studio (thank you TaDa Art Studio!). I am extremely fortunate to have quite a few regular customers, but would love to expand that list!

Soon, I will be posting some pictures of my cards and hope you will like what you see.

I will be adding some new Christmas cards (as soon as I finish making them!) and a few New Year's cards to my Etsy site soon. I love making custom orders, so if you need something done, don't hesitate to ask! Just make sure you give me adequate time to complete the project.

Thanks for taking the time to read this! Remember, every day is a new day to do something original!

    --Meg
