Yay, I'm back! I came back from spending a weekend at Disney with my parents (my son's grandparents) and we had a blast! Things have been so busy lately that I'm not doing as much sewing as I'd like to, but I'm still having a great time :).
So, what has the Made By Moms' household been up to lately?

First, we took our son ice skating for the first time ever!!! That was a ridiculously fun time. He fell a few times (hey, he's three) but after about an hour and a half he had progressed to the point where he could propel himself forward only holding on to the wall -- pretty good for someone who barely learned how to walk two years ago ;).
Then we went to Disney over the weekend, camping in the grandparent's RV and spending time in Epcot, Magic Kingdom and MGM (now Hollywood Studios).

If you get a chance to go to Disney World over the holidays, you can't miss the Spectacle of Lights over at MGM -- it's amazing. We spent a little while at MGM, checking out the lights (they dance to the music for certain songs) and watching the snow bubbles fall gracefully to the ground before we ate at the Brown Derby. It's a fantastic reproduction of the authentic Brown Derby, but the food was ridiculously disappointing. The service was negligent (and I'm an ex-server, so I am pretty lenient about service lapses) and the food was abysmal. I love to go out to eat at nice restaurants and will pay a pretty penny for good food, but that stipulates the food is actually... well... good. I ordered a salmon dish on polenta with an olive tapenade... The polenta was delicious but the olive tapenade had no flavor and the salmon tasted as though it'd been sitting underneath a heat lamp for hours. When I say that Disney's buffets serve fresher, moister salmon, I'm not kidding.
My toddler son ordered chicken with broccoli and potatoes... The potatoes were rock hard and burnt and his chicken was so dry it was impossible to cut. It was a hocky puck. But try and flag down the waiter? Yeah, right. It was such a disappointing meal that I didn't even order dessert (which was pumpkin cheesecake... my FAVORITE), so as to avoid being disappointed on that. Don't bother eating there -- it's far too expensive for the quality being offered!
Besides that, though, we had an all-around great time playing out in the cold.

On Saturday, the hubby and I went over to the ESPN Zone to watch the SEC Championship game... we spent hours there enjoying ourselves and the food was pretty good for the price. We had nachos, beer and sandwiches... can't go wrong, there. ... Oh, and the Gators won!! YAY!!!

Besides that, we didn't do anything really special, just bouncing around the Disney property... eatting at the usual hangouts. There's nothing like Disney to tucker out a toddler whose motor is consistently pressed to "go" ... so I thought I'd leave you with some parting shots of my son, fast asleep in the RV and his stroller.
Oh, and the Epcot ball at night... can't forget that! Did you know that it's the world's largest geodesic dome? Yeah, I taught Geometry for a while !! lol So, what's next up? A favorite recipe... a sneak peek into a new line we're developing... and more adventures in the Made By Moms clans!
