By the grace of God I guess and I needed the job. Not that I was not always looking, I was. It was that no one was hiring. Finally I was able to leave and leaving was hard, I was promised more money and all sorts of things but I said NO THANKS and flew out of there. I gather you will be offered something to stay as well. But those kinds of people never learn and they must be so miserable in their soul. I do wish you all the best in finding another job soon. Will send up a prayer that the doors will open for you.

Another day come and gone . . .

Saturday, January 24, 2009, 07:22 PM CST [A day in the life of ]

Well, I believe I've missed a couple of days.  Having a full time job, kids in sports, home with termites, going to school, cooking, cleaning and doing the laundry all tend to get in the way . . .

If anyone has any suggestions (other than a full time maid, cook & chauffeur) I'm all ears ;0)

So, my ever so "nice" boss decided that it would be a good idea to begin a "healthy" competition between herself and the remainder of the showroom employees (all 2) and low and behold - it is the most negatively destructive thing a person such as herself could do.

Why? You ask as inquiring minds want to know.  Weeeellllll, the showroom personnel have adopted the attitude "bring it on b*^&h" eventhough I have discouraged it in my most professional, legal and admonishing manner.  I lost that conversation and the "healthy" competition began last Monday with a $45,000 sale to one customer, continued Tuesday with a $5,200 sale and ended (jumping up and down) the week on Friday with a $37,000 sale - (laughing to myself here).

However, the week progressively became worse for the employees because the staff was elated and the boss was not speaking to anyone because we were in the lead.  So, her idea essentially backfired because she was no longer the numero uno.

Needless to say - I am now the target of choice as was evident by 4 phone calls to my cell phone this morning, all before 9am.  No, I did not answer as it's my phone and it's also my day off.  I did, however, give in and phone it about 2 hours later to inquire as to what was so important.

    But that's for another day.  .  .  .

    Continuation of "what a day"

Saturday, January 17, 2009, 10:39 AM CST [A day in the life of ]

Welll - just as I thought life was ok after coming home from work.  I decided to vacuum our spare bedroom because my youngest was having a friend stay the night.

Low and behold what did I find?  Little black winged bugs all over the carpet.  So, of course, me being me what did I do?  I vacuumed and then immediately went to the tool box to retrieve a screwdriver, hammer and flashlight.  As I was down on the floor "testing" the baseboards I noticed, of course to my dismay, a TON of tunneling holes.

What, you ask are these?  TERMITE infestations.  UGH.  So, my supportive hubby and I and the 2 boys proceeded to rip out all the baseboards, the carpet and even some of the sub-support beams.  Yes, it was a 2 shots of tequila night by the time we were done.

So today, instead of crafting some beautiful (and relaxing) "Kreations," I will be going to the local tile stores to find tile and mastic and all the goodies needed to fix the floor that was ripped up.

Yup, this is a day in the life of me - every day there is something new and unexpected to deal with. . . .

    Happy Saturday,
    Lisa
