The Radio City Music Hall Rockettes Christmas Show

Sunday, December 14, 2008, 07:57 PM [Family Memories]

Our precious daughter, Megan, gave us tickets to the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular for our anniversary in November.  The big day arrived yesterday and I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it was!

This is my first time seeing the Rockettes, and I can honestly say that they totally exceeded my expectations. The high-stepping dancers have a rich American history, and they held nothing back in the nearly two-hour production.

Directed and choreographed by Linda Haberman, the show is a multi-faceted theatrical production that travels in nearly 30 trucks and 16 buses and celebrates Christmas with a variety of special lighting effects, costumes, fireworks, a live nativity scene and more.

I highly recommend the show to anyone who wants a dazzling treat for the holidays!

    Thanksgiving in the Smokies

Thursday, December 4, 2008, 02:47 AM [Family Memories]

We just returned from a mini vacation to the Smokey Mountains.  Gatlinburg has been our Thanksgiving destination for over 20 years.  We love the hustle and bustle of the holiday crowd there --- if you don't have the Christmas spirit when you get there, you certainly will when you leave!

Our favorite place to eat Thanksgiving Dinner  is the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge.  This is a "must do" if you are ever in the area.  It is so wonderful to look out over the water at night, especially if there is snow falling!

    Fall on Lookout Mountain

Thursday, November 13, 2008, 11:32 PM [Family Memories]

We recently returned from a glorious mini vacation to Georgia and Tennessee with my brother and his wife.  What fun!!!  The log cabin we stayed in was fabulous!  We had a fire every night and enjoyed each others company.  We only wish our children could have been there too.....
