How to include photos in your blog posts

Saturday, December 6, 2008, 05:58 AM CST [General]

It took me a while yesterday to figure out how to add photos to a blog.  So I thought I'd write down the steps in case it helps anyone else.

The key is you must first upload the photos to your MyCraft Photo Gallery.

    First click the Photos tab.

    Click Upload Photo

Select the Gallery in which you want to place the photo.  I figured "Blog Photos"

Choose the photo image file (or files) from your own computer and click start upload.

Now go back to your Blog.  Look down at the bottom of the posting box.  See the Insert Photo tab?

Clicking that tab takes you to the MyCraft Photo Manager.  You select the photo you want to insert from the list of photos you have already uploaded.  Double click on it, and it will pop right into your blog post.

    Ta DA!!!!!!

    Front Page of ShopHandMade.com

Friday, December 5, 2008, 09:48 AM CST [General]

    Hey, how cool is this??!!

We made the front page of http://www.shophandmade.com   ... and I haven't even finished uploading stuff to our shop there.  :-)

I also figured out how to insert a jpg image into a blog post here.  It took a few minutes to figure it how.  If anyone needs to see how to do it, just ask me.  :-)

Do you relist daily on Etsy?

Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 07:55 AM CST [General]

When I signed up at http://www.artfire.com, I noticed their little "blurb" says $7.00 per month for life is "cheaper than daily relisting on Etsy".

Is that what the Etsy "power sellers" do?  Relist each item daily?

I'm pretty new to all this, hence the dumb questions.  :-)

    Where to set up shops?

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 09:38 AM CST [General]

So far I have discovered Etsy and Shophandmade.

Where else should I be setting up a shop?

Can anyone comment on where you seem to get the best response?

    Thanks!!

    Joy and blessings,

    CJ

    Hello Artists and Craftspeople!

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 05:52 AM CST [General]

Actually, I am neither an artist nor a craftsperson.

A good friend, Lilian, who is a jewlery maker, asked me to help her get started selling some of her items on line.

I set up a little Etsy shop, I've done a few Craigslist postings, and now I'm here.

Can any of you good folks here suggest some other online locations for selling handmade jewlery?

In turn, I do know a little about HTML and CSS and a wee tiny bit about PHP programming, so if you folks have questions about doing stuff with your websites or blogs, I might be able to lend a hand.

Joy and blessings; peace and love,

    CJ
